second link for song choice

Another idea just came around as I thought about how I would very much like to use a piano piece for my music video. I was having uneasy thoughts about using piano pieces in this project as I knew it would be hard to capture as much wonder in the video as it would in the actual song, not only that but i knew it would be hard to find an interesting and short enough song to use in the project. I then got reminded to think about remixes to songs, I often find remixes to some of my favourite orchestral and piano songs and either love or hate them, there is often a fine line between the two. An amazing piece by Beethoven called 'Moonlight Sonata' was remixed on YouTube by somebody unknown have posted a comment on the video to ask permission to use it, so far this is my favourite I have come across. The video I have chosen seems to end on an awkward and undesirable note so I have decided to use the programme Audacity to alter the track and choose a more appropriate ending for the song and fade out.

Here's the video:

First idea for song choice.

The link attached is to a youtube video holding a song which was independently created by an artist called Wesley Avery Music. I have commented on the video and asked permission to us the song, he has replied and given me permission. I am still unsure whether to use this song on my track yet as it is still early into the research but at least I know have a more specific idea what it is that I am searching for.

Music for the music video

When choosing the project it was clear that the hardest part of the project would be to create the promotional music video, I decided to start early on this project so that the time doesn't overwhelm me. I have been searching for suitable music to use as the track within the music video and I have been searching for a particular type. I wanted to use a track that used no lyrics, as sometimes it is hard matching the lyrics in the song to the mouths of the actors in the music video singing them. To be able to pull off creating a music video to a song with no lyrics the song needs to have an eerie style and an alternative beat. This is so that the music video can be created by relating to the music with alternative shots and creative editing techniques.

Brief

I need to create a promotion package for the release of an album, to include a music promo video, together with the following:
  • A cover for its release as part of a Digipak (CD/DVD/Vinyl package)
  • A magazine advertisement for the Digipak (DC/DVD/Vinyl package)
